Right to Public Information Act
Under the Kerala Right to Service Act, 2012, the Grama Panchayat is responsible for providing various services to the public in a transparent manner and within the prescribed time limits.

If a service is not provided within the prescribed time limit or an application is rejected, the applicant may file a complaint within 30 days before the First Appellate Authority, namely the Panchayat Secretary. If the applicant is not satisfied with the decision of the First Appellate Authority, a second appeal may be filed before the Deputy Director of Panchayats (DDP), who is the Second Appellate Authority. Legal action shall be taken against officials who fail to discharge their duties in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
