Vision and Mission
1. Panchayat Vision
This represents the long-term vision of how Karunapuram Grama Panchayat should develop as a region in the future:
- Sustainable Development: Implement development initiatives that conserve natural resources and benefit both the present and future generations.
- Infrastructure Development: Ensure quality roads, drinking water, housing, electricity, and other basic facilities for all citizens.
- Social Equality: Ensure equal justice and opportunities for all sections of society, irrespective of caste, religion, or gender.
- Self-Reliance: Lead the Panchayat towards self-reliance in agriculture, industry, employment, and livelihood sectors.
- Health and Education: Ensure access to quality healthcare services and quality education for all.
2. Panchayat Mission
The major activities and responsibilities undertaken by the Panchayat to achieve its vision are:
- Decentralised Planning: Identify the needs of the people through Grama Sabhas and prepare and implement annual development plans accordingly.
- Poverty Eradication: Provide employment and income opportunities to marginalised sections through programmes such as MGNREGS and Kudumbashree.
- Public Health & Waste Management: Achieve the goal of a “Waste-Free Village” through the Haritha Karma Sena and strengthen the functioning of Primary Health Centres.
- Digital Governance: Deliver Panchayat services such as certificates and licences to citizens through online platforms in a transparent and timely manner.
- Agricultural Development: Encourage farmers and dairy farmers through initiatives such as barren-land-free village programmes and various subsidies.
